Sounds like heaven doesn’t it? It kinda is if we’re really honest. This home bursts at the seams… physically, emotionally, spiritually.
Being with our gang is literally the BEST way to fill up your cup. But with that said… we’re not a zoo. We don’t just allow anyone inside our safe spaces… this is our home, this is their home, they are not an attraction that people can come and visit. We want our children to know that those in their lives are safe, committed people who they can really attach to and bond with.
A great yardstick measure is what you would allow in your own home… if a delivery person asked if they could come and ‘have a look at your room’ or ‘meet your children’, you’d probably have a panic attack… same same. This is the safe place, the inner sanctum of their children’s lives. We protect it at all costs.
What we do allow… and encourage…
- Volunteers who can commit to a minimum of 2 hours a week for at least a year.
- Financial donations via our bank account or other payment platforms.
- Donations via Takealot
- Donations via our eStore
- Donations delivered to our door by prior arrangement only (drop and go)
- Involvement in our social media accounts
- School community service at allocated times and by prior arrangement.
- Special events
What we don’t allow:
- Drop in visits to ‘see the children’
- Once off cuddle sessions
- Tours of the nurseries
- Detailed accounts of our children’s stories
